If it doesn't bring $146,872.43 its not even keeping with inflation. Crazy isn't it?

Unreal price to sell for. Alcohol must not have been flowing that day.

For those who didnt see my reply on the Registry FB page.....

I inspected this car thoroughly, It was quite literally the roughest ZR-1 I've ever looked at. This car sat unprotected for decades, Evidence of moss growth everywhere ( especially under the emblems). Outer door seals were dry rotted and the rear gas fill cover oxidized THROUGH the paint.

The engine had signs of rodent urine etching EVERYWHERE and I'm SURE the valley was holding water. I'm guessing this car was bought by an online bidder because of miles only. An 88' IROC Z ( 1LE) with low miles fetched $50K and was a minor paint correction away from appearing new. >>>>IMHO, BJ is FAR from setting gold standard or setting prices/trends. They also sold a C7 Z06 with low miles that have been going for $65-75K in the last 3 months...IT sold for $175K.

Thank you for the info, I could not believe how cheap that car was. I figured that it was because it literally crossed the block around 10pm and no bidders stuck around.

We should be seeing this again at some point, it too many white 90s floating around. Why would anybody buy a car like this new just to let it rot, boggles the mind.

But they did do a fuel system was cleaned, and new fuel pumps, fuel filter, and all 16 fuel injectors were replaced, as well as oil, coolant, battery, MAP sensor and the oil filter. 19 miles (title reads exempt). So the mechanics might be ok?

Did anyone see it running?

I was there but not interested that zr1. Was looking for a k code fastback mustang

Yes, I was at BJ and heard the car start and run. The engine sounded fine. I spoke to the consigner/owner who explained what maintenance was done to get the engine running. I agree that the car had not been stored properly so it sold for a fair price given the condition. It would be a great driver for someone who has the time and knowledge to refresh the car. I was there when it sold and very few bidders were still engaged (it was about 10:30 PM MST).

Thanks for the first hand account of the condition. That is a skill that is lost in the generation of the internet and BAT. BTW I am part of that but my dad was a master tech that began running dealerships. There are very few people left that can call a car. Thanks for the info!
