Weird occurance...

To start, I have never in 8 years of ownership, had one mechanical issue with my Z........I've never had a no start, never overheats. She starts on the coldest winter morning or the hottest summer day after hours of driving. It's one of the reasons I love the car so much, it's just dependable....

So yesterday I go for a drive and something odd happened that I've never seen. I go and start the car and the Z fires right up......But then the dash, and the radio and interior lights start blinking off and on. The car is idling no issues, but it sounds like I have the hazzard lights on. With a clicking noise and the lights all blinking. After about 10-15 seconds the blinking stoppped. I shut the car off and started back up, never did it again all day........Any ideas?????

My best educated guess is an internal short in your battery and it's about to fail. This happens as the car demands 12.69 volts all the time. If it's doesn't get all that power these weird things will happen. Also check you cable connections as well. GC

Will check cables after work.....I have had it on a battery tender all summer. Really haven't driven it much....But last month I have had if off the tender and been driving it. Figures as far as the battery goes, That is the ONE thing I have replaced 2 times.

Yep. I have dozen or more failed batteries even with a battery tender. Battery tender can also fail the other way. Either way , probably a quick fix.

In tropical Florida heat batteries under the hood, I get wary of failure after three years. 5 years seem to be a threshold. DO NOT get the universal fit with the posts on top. The positive can touch a metal bracket. Get the side post only. And pick up a new pair of battery bolts for the side post cables too.

Agree on being main power related, and the clicking you hear would be the relays as they don't have enough power to keep closed. It could also be a loose connection.
