Porting work by fellow members
Who all does porting work on the Forum? Occasionally I see guys advertise porting the plenum and injector housings for $650-900. What is the experience with each vendor?

See LocoBob's post from last month:
http://www.zr1.net/forum/showthread....=ported+plenum He does good work, and is a great guy. The guys at Wazoo do good work, lots of contact info, just do a search for Wazoo.. Lee Gafkin here does good porting as well, search for LGAFF. Having said that, there are others that do porting commercially. Marc Haibec is hands down one of the best, his website is: http://www.zr1specialist.com/ Corey Henderson really knows ZR1's too: http://www.hendersonperformance.com/ SGC (South Georgia Corvetes) is another, I don't know if Doug Rippee Motorsports still do, but they used to, and maybe Lingenfelter too. Gone but not forgotten, The 'Ol Pirate Captian Himself, Jim Van Dorn. He was unique, and I will miss him. There's another member here who just opened a specialty shop, I'll have to go digging into the posts to find them. 'Crabs '90 ZR1 #792 |

Greg VanDeventer in Stillwater is top shelf quality. Still works for MerCruiser & was on the LT5 team when it was being manufactured in Stillwater.

This may be Dempsey Anderson (Oricale) at Evolution Motorsports Engineering (http://www.evolution-motorsport.com/) in Northern Virginia. This is the newest shop that I'm aware of that has in-depth knowledge of ZR-1s. He does great work for a fair price, is meticulous with the details, treats your car like it's his own, and is well-known member to many on the forums. Scott |

Crabs,
SGC is closed down. Pete Polatsidis has made significant contribution to advancing performance of the LT-5. As an example, his cams are a standard for performance in stock and large displacement motors. So, IMO, Pete belongs alongside the others you've named. |

Pete did my plenum air horn and I/Hs....Noticed the difference immediately....Additional power throughout rev range....
If I lived closer ( he's in Chicago im in NY) I would let him port the heads ...I don't have the room or the know how to pull the motor and just send the heads out.... His work is top notch... |
