Do the NCRS judges remove the gray plastic Caps?

Do the NCRS judges remove the gray plastic caps off of the nuts when they are inspecting the wheels? Just got to wondering about that. Some of my wheel nuts are changing color and are no longer the gold color that they originally were.

Remember when it was every 6 months? Now they are going back to once per year.

Well, it was every year, then every six months, then every 9 months (AQP) and then back to six months. It looks like they can't make up their minds.
