What's red and has pop-up headlights?
A tough decision, that's what.

We'll carpool home in one of them, leaving the other at the office. Because we're environmentally conscious and all that. So what goes home? 1990 ZR-1 #1932 or 1992 Firehawk #010? Remember when GM made pretty cars? |

What's the Firehawk got for a motor?
Yes, both are very cool. |
Re: What's red and has pop-up headlights?
FIREHAWK SPECIFICATIONS
Standard Features: $39,995
Very rare car, 25 produced. |
Re: What's red and has pop-up headlights?
Sure do like the Hawk...rare as hell...but I just don't think it would give me the permagrin. I owned a few F body's...I last had a 30th Z28, but I often think of adding a 30th LT4 SS, if I ran across one at the right time, only 100 of those.
My little brother had a 92 Formula 350 WS6...I really liked it. I remember he was looking for a super ram for it, but eventually moved on to an 06 ZO6. Anyway, you sure don't see that 92 FireHawk very often. Most must be in bubble wrap or something. |

What a great pair those two make!! Very nice Firehawk and very nice Z!

Re: What's red and has pop-up headlights?
There were two of those '92 firehawks for sale at barrett-jackson back in the mid-90s. 2,100 miles, they both hammered for around $12K. If only I knew then what I know now....
The ZR-1 is more European flavor, like a Ferrari. The Firehawk is more old school like a 69 Z-28. personally, I would find the Firehawk more entertaining to drive, even though I have a 94 ZR-1. Want to trade? LOL. |
Re: What's red and has pop-up headlights?
The Firehawk is a beast. Pure and simple. Having had a '69 Z-28 (I traded it title-for-title for the ZR-1, actually... funny story there for another day) I can concur with gen2rt on the comparison. It's very accurate.
Both are uncommonly entertaining to drive. The ZR-1 has much better manners though. I couldn't drive the Firehawk daily if I wanted to. It's a street legal race car. The ZR-1 has all of the creature comforts and better road manners. They make a very fun pair, though. Both closely related, both very similar packages but completely different execution from a different angle. |

In my garage the Miata has pop up headlights. The ZR1 has rotate up headlights.:-D
