How do I pop headlights to clean?

Hi-
I can't believe I'm the first to ask, but I came up empty with the search tool. Put the ZR-1 up for the winter, so now detailing it a bit. If I want to detail the headlight buckets and lights themselves, how do I get them 'open' without the lights being on? I would rather not open them and disconnect the batt. Any other options?
Thanks for any tips and/or recommendations.

John,

look just to the inside of the light assembly you will see the black motors. See the small black knob on top just start turning it. I believe this is also in the owners book under Service & Appearance Care. Page 230 in 91...273 in 93

Lots of turning by the way. It takes a bunch of cranks before the lights even move.

You could try just raising the hood and doing it from behind.

Thanks guys!

Like most of us, I have a touch of OCD, so I could not get to all the areas by working from under the hood.
I did know about the manual overrides (knobs), but was concerned I might upset their setting if I manually cranked them open. Meaning they might not stroke properly (evenly) once they were back to motor operation. Sounds like that is the only solution though.

I appreciate the suggestions, gentlemen!

Thank you.

Even if left up they will close as soon as you turn the key on, In other words no issues.

You can jog the lights with the switch and they will stay open partially but the parking lights will stay on. No way around it,start turning that knob or do the cleaning with the hood open.
