IDLE / THROTTLE ISSUE

I have a '95 with 4800 miles. It runs great but I have an idle / throttle issue. At start-up the engine idles normally at 700 RPM. Once the engine is at operating temperature, it idles at 1100 RPM. However, I can bring the idle back to 700 RPM by agressively "tapping" the accelerator pedal. The engine idle returns to 1100 RPM after normal driving. Also, if the engine is shutdown and restarted, the idle always returns to normal (700 RPM). I have cleaned and lubed the throttle blades but have not removed and rebuilt the throttle body. I'm also wondering if the throttle linkage may be sticking and causing the issue.

Any ideas?

The fact that it idles fine after shutdown says its a sticking throttle. I just went thru same issue although my throttle body was disassembled for media blasting and paint.

Re: IDLE / THROTTLE ISSUE

After it stick don't blip it.
Take the bellows off and reach in with a long screwdriver or stick
and push back on the big plates. If that does lowers it back then
your looking at linkage or the big plates sticking still.
If there's no change then look to the little plate in the middle below the
two big plates. It or the linkage to it could be it.
I have never seen any other source of problem to the symptom described.
