LOL!

Gas mileage prolly ... not as good as your LT5. But! You'll be the only one on the block that has one like it! I doubt Pete or Marc will have the quals to work on it....Bob Gillig...maybe! LOL!

Might have to modify the front crossmember
to get it to fit?
Hope your local gas station carries 115/145 octane av-gas...

Lol... I was at the Reno Air Races today, saw this and thought of you guys! I have no idea who made it or how many cylinders it has. Must have been a nightmare to work on and keep running.

From what I have been to google it's a Pratt & Whitney 5600XBSAP that puts out 7000 hp!

"A fun display for the fans was an engine shown behind the Grandstands: the Pratt & Whitney 5600 XBSAP! A fifty-six cylinder radial with eight rows of seven cylinders and displacing 8,720 cubic inches! A massive R-8720 power plant. A lot of people stood around scratching their heads over this one: that is, until they realized it was two R-4360 power sections bolted together! A lot of “experts” and “aviation buffs” were heard to make some interesting rationalizations and statements of “fact” about its history!"

The B29 was powered by the Wright R3350
The further developed Boeing B50 had the Pratt & Whitney R-4360 Wasp Major

After further googling the concensus appears to be that it's a mock up. Probably never ran. The biggest and last production radial engines P&W ever produced were the "corncob" 28 cylinder R-4360's. Cooling, fuel economy and the development of the jet engine killed it.
