Re: SOCAL ZRONERS check in

I'll give it a try if the time and location work out. I'm in southern Orange County, so a PCH cruise sounds good.

Re: Another 1991 Fails CA emissions... Help!

I'm sorry, but I failed to mention that I failed the first test with an aftermarket PROM. I managed to buy the last stock PROM for a 1990 in the Chevrolet system. They shipped it all the way from...

Re: Replaced Radiator and Thermostat

Just replaced my high performance radiator with a stock unit. What a difference! Temperature stays nice and cool when driving around town. Before, thirty seconds after getting off the freeway the...

Re: WTB- Zr1 Headers

I have a set of coated long-tube headers that I was thinking about selling. Watson's I believe. Don't know if they suit your needs though as they have the EGR fitting but no AIR tubes.

Re: WTB: 1990 OEM Prom

Actually, I read an article by Hib Halverson that stated how a ZR-1 owner had failed for NOx here in Califonia despite having virtually the same numbers he had two years prior. Apparently, in 2003 CA...

Re: ZR-1 Pull Your Plenum Session Meet>>>

Wow! Thanks for the photos, they make an excellent guide. The line I am referring to is the line in the second photo. I can now see where it attaches to the airhorn fitting. I'm not sure if it was...

Re: ZR-1 Pull Your Plenum Session Meet>>>

Jeffvette, thanks for the info. That shouldn't be too complicated to reattach.

Re: WTB: 1990 OEM Prom

TFENT, once again thanks for the offer. I managed to get about the last one at a GM dealership in Maine. It arrived the same day that I saw Callaway selling them at half the price. I'm glad to...

Re: ZR-1 Pull Your Plenum Session Meet>>>

Could I get a little help from those of you familiar with this operation? Yesterday after looking for the source of my high idle and high coolant temperature, I noticed that the vacuum fitting that...

WTB: 1990 OEM Prom

Still trying to solve my emissions issues here in CA. The dyno test show excess NOX at both the 15 mph and 25 mph tests. I'm about 200 ppm over at both speeds. Not too bad. I have a modded chip so...

Re: LT5 Gaskets & Seals

Thanks for the info. After starting the header swap, I eyed the exhaust ports and its not a pretty sight. Looks like 13 of 16 exhaust valves are having trouble controlling the oil. Just thought it...

Re: LT5 Gaskets & Seals

Regarding the valve stem seals, I haven't really taken a close look or a close read on the subject, but can the valve stems seals work on the exhaust side of the '90 cylinder heads? Can they be...

Re: A.I.R system Q's

Z Proud,
Those look sweet, I can hardly wait to get mine. What did you have modify on the right side headers?

Hammer,
Sorry, didn't want rub salt. So many great Zr-1's for sale now, I keep...

Re: A.I.R system Q's

I'm still waiting for the headers from SW. They seem to be willing to supply the headers with the A.I.R. plumbing for an additional cost, though that wasn't the original plan. The CARB is a huge...

Re: A.I.R system Q's

I'm going to check with SW to make sure. Hope I'm right, otherwise it look like it's gonna cost more to get it right.

I did see a recent article somewhere in which AIR tubes were added to an...

Re: A.I.R system Q's

I believe the new SW headers that have been sold on the forum give the AIR tubes as an option. I went with the headers that place the cats before the y-pipe rather than the long tube headers.

Re: A.I.R system Q's

This seems to be a common problem for those of us with the visual smog inspection. I'm in CA. Just bought Uly's 1990 and took it into to smog. Didn't even get on the machine, the inspector said I...
