Re: Any reliable corvette shops in the CA bay area?

Can't agree with the previous posts more, a trip to Marc Haibec's is in your very best interest.
Not cheap or quick, but it is your very BEST option.

As far as I know, there are NO shops in the...

Re: Driveshaft removal for speedo gear swap. C-Beam out or not?

It's really tight in there, not a lot of wiggle room between the driveshaft and the c-beam.
Not to say that it's impossible to extract the driveshaft without removing the c-beam, but I'd be really...

Re: Help with no start PLEASE.

Have you checked for codes?
Suspect maybe the cam sensor has gone fubar while you were addressing the 'O'Ring issue.

Re: Help with FX3 actuators/faults

Had a similar issue on my '90.
I removed each actuator, cleaned with WD40, applied a little silicone lube to the gears and put them back on.
Problem went away.

Re: 1990 ZR1 ECM Needed

I had a very sililar problem some years ago. In my case it was caused by me back probing the injector pins at the ECM plug. Big no no.

Hope this helps.

Re: Speedometer issue

- The C4 Corvette with ZF6-S40 uses a pulse-signal-reference generated from the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS). The VSS, when equipped with a 15 tooth (T) drive gear (on output shaft) and 42T driven gear...

Re: A question for the longtime owners.

I've owned my '90 ZR-1 for over 20 years now.
In that time I've put less than 9,000 miles on it.
Every time I drive it I risk serious jail time.
That being said, it's the funnest car I've ever...

Re: New engine startup in restomod 62

Give Corey Henderson at Henderson Performance Automotive in New Braunfels Texas a call, hes the closest to you. Failing that I'd call Marc Haibec for advice.
Personally, i would just gut a wrecked...

Re: SYS Light on Dash

Usually means it's time to replace your battery.
It's a CCM code, means the battery is less than 12v.

Re: Oil in Plenum

Jerrys Gaskets has all the PVC hoses in stock:

A little oil is ok, a lot would be indication that something isn't quite right.

Re: '91 ZR1 different Mufflers and Control Arms?

I've been a ZR-1 owner for 20 years now.
Every last 1992 through 1995 ZR-1 I've ever seen has had the square tips.
I like them so much that someday I plan to cut the oval tips off of the...

Re: No start help!!

Just in case it's not entirely clear, the ignition module is the device that lives on the bottom side of the plenum.
It's also known as the DIS module.
It has connectors in front and the back. It's...

Don't forget that late model blue label have no reverse lockout ring on shifter, the have "crash through" reverse engagement.

Re: Limits of stock LT5 with boost?

My guess would be that all things being equal, a stock configuration LT5 on boost, the most likely first failure would be head gaskets.
We already know the bottom end is bullet proof as evidenced by...

Re: ZR-1 History all "Jack'd" up...

If Ron could be encouraged to do another run, I'd be first in line to buy one, and just to sweeten the deal, I'd pay for half of Craigs replacement bottle.

Re: WTB ABS Pump Relay, got a spare?

Mine failed a few years ago, research led me to the conclusion that they were made of pure unobtanium.
Further research indicated its a simple 12v relay, the only thing special is the case and...

Re: Repainting Throttle Body Cover

If i were to guess, I'd say he meant to polish your LT5 like he showed in the pic.
Polished motors are pretty for sure, but I'd yuess it takes a ton of rubbng.

Re: Looking for LT-1 & LT-5 Specialist

LT1, likely plenty. check your local Chevy dealer, or pretty much any restoration shop.
LT5, uhh...nope.
Used to be a guy just across the border in Washington, but he evaporated long ago.
There...

Re: LT5-Powered 1958 Corvette Restomod

Is it my imagination, or did the builder forget to polish the throttle body (or was afraid to)?
Awesome looking car, but almost seems sacrilegious to restomod a '58.
So few survived, but as an old...

Re: Still chasing poor running

Yup.
That was me.
I had bad injectors, tested them by pulling off the big connector on the ECM and probing the sockets with my DVM.
I did confirm injector failure, but also managed to physically...
