Re: A/C blower fan won?t turn off

I got one a year or so ago off fleabay listed for a Jeep Cherokee (exact same thing as for the GM cars) and it was maybe $13 shipped to me. No Corvette tax, exact replacement, 3 pin, works...

Re: 1990 AC question

If the Freon level is that low that the compressor will not engage, you have to bypass or short the low pressure switch to turn on the compressor to get Freon into the system. You will not be able to...

Re: New engine whistle/whine

I remembered that after I made the post above and will do that later today when it warms up a little so I can go out. Could be that the squeal on start up is just related to the cold belt. I never...

Re: New engine whistle/whine

Can't hear anything with a stethoscope 'cause everything is rotating and you can't get on it to locate a noise.
I have now a 1/2" breaker bar that should fit the tensioner, I think I was using a...

Re: New engine whistle/whine

I'll have to make up a mechanic's stethoscope and try and track down the source of the whistle. It's very faint now only at idle and rapidly drops in pitch as it fades as I turn the engine off. Right...

Re: New engine whistle/whine

If it were a pulley or other bearing going bad then why would the whistle only occur at dead low idle and not increase in loudness or pitch with increase in engine rpm?

Re: New engine whistle/whine

This morning that whistle is only heard at dead slow idle, as soon as you rev up the engine even slightly it disappears. So I think it's related to the belt, maybe exacerbated because of the cooler...

New engine whistle/whine

I changed my oil/filter today and then ran the engine to circulate it around before checking the level again, and heard this high pitched whistle/whine when the hood was open. Don't really hear it...

Re: Stalling sometimes at stops?

Here's a totally different take on that problem. Mine did that twice one day a few years ago- stalled at a traffic light, was able to restart it immediately. Then about a mile down the road, stalled...

Re: INFLREST; I've replaced front impact sensor 3 times

I also had the INFL REST indicator problem on my car (was on when I bought it), checked the codes, cleaned off both R and L sensor grounds, then the indicator light came on months later and I did it...

Re: 95 Slave Cylinder Replacement Cost

The slave cylinder itself, IIRC, is about $80 or more depending on where you buy it. And you also need to buy brake fluid. It's not particularly difficult to replace, I did mine, but you either need...

Re: '90 blower control module

Thanks for that. I found one for 20% the cost of those advertised for a C4, exact same part but there's no "Corvette Tax" on Jeep parts.
I know my module is bad because I tested it and there is a...

'90 blower control module

Today after a ride when I stopped and turned off the car ('90 ZR-1), the AC blower motor continued to run with no effect on it from the control buttons. The only way to turn it off is either to...

Re: A/C stopped working

The AC controller under the driver side dash has nothing to do with the compressor, it only controls the vacuum lines to the various doors in the duct system to direct the airflow.
Do you have any...

Re: Another poor airflow out the HVAC vents thread

The other thing about the foam is, I have no idea if that comes from the sealing of the various doors to direct the airflow, or if it comes from where the ducts join to one another, where, if that is...

Re: Another poor airflow out the HVAC vents thread

I found part of the problem. I removed the grates over the center and passenger dash vents and got a good look in there. There were fragments of 30 year old foam which I sucked out with the shop vac...

Where is that screwed-on clip that holds the line to the body and how easy is that to access?
