Re: 1992 Red/Red ZR1, 61900 miles for sale

I am going to put this onto craigslist and eBay on Wednesday or Thursday this week.

Not sure about parting it out - the car runs nicely, engine strong, new clutch and injectors.

As said, open...

Re: 1992 Red/Red ZR1, 61900 miles for sale

BigIke, I don't know - that's what I'm hoping for minimum. As we all do, we over inspect these cars, and there are the listed minor issues with it - actuator $200, radio or amps, $300, interior could...

NEW 1989-1991 FX3 small shock gear - $25 including delivery

All -

I accidentally picked up 1989-1991 shock gear when instead I needed a 1992. Item is new, but has the smaller stop length (for the 1989-91) instead of what I needed (longer stop length) for...

Re: Front shock change

All - thanks for this thread, very useful.

I have an intermittent Service Ride Control light, which I flashed and it pointed me to the front-right actuator - opened it up, and the small shock gear...

Re: Super Chevy lightweight flywheel test

Ed -

Replacing a flywheel is:

- remove the exahust
- remove the drive shaft
- remove the C-beam (drive beam)
- remove the transmission
- remove the clutch housing
- remove the clutch

Re: SLP Cold air intake...Any good?

Vette73 - a Marc Haibeck chip comes highly recommended (I have had 2 in my current and previous ZR1s), and this certainly helps... next would be exhaust imho as bang for buck and easy to do... K&N...

Re: Switched to RAM dual-disc clutch, some questions

I am not sure what the weight of the RAM Aluminum Billet flywheel is compared to the Fidanza, but in any case for sure it's lighter than the OE dual mass and pressure plate, so I imagine that there...

Re: Switched to RAM dual-disc clutch, some questions

As Jerry just posted, this pedal adjuster is for the hydraulic bearing, which has replaced the OE clutch slave, fork and pull-type throwout bearing.

I am not aware of any such adjustment for the...

Re: Switched to RAM dual-disc clutch, some questions

Hi Phil -

Thanks for your note. High pedal is fine for me. I have the FW supplied by Jerry in his kit, I believe it's still Aluminum but not a super light-weight FW, more weighted for the ZR1 I...

Re: Switched to RAM dual-disc clutch, some questions

Mike - it's currently seated without any shims, all measurements confirmed this ... as did the final fitting. With the bearing fully retracted, there's 0.150-0.200" of space between the bearing face...

Re: Switched to RAM dual-disc clutch, some questions

Mike - no, the engagement is gradual enough, just high on the pedal. Hard to recall, but with the OE fork/throwout, I'd reckon on the bite around half to two-thirds high, full bitten in by 3/4 to...

Switched to RAM dual-disc clutch, some questions

All,

I just switched to a RAM dual-disc clutch with a hydraulic bearing. I made various measurements and will write these up shortly. Old fork and old slave (clean fluid coming out) both seemed...

Re: Do they sell a hideaway front plate for the ZR 1?

I'm in New York, and my hideway solution is to not worry about it. My front plate (which reads "1992 ZR1" ftw!) is sitting behind my driver's seat, not on show, and the front just has the stock...

Re: Just picked up a 91 blk/blk ZR 1 from gateway classics

I'm in Brooklyn (Park Slope) but my car is in Fishkill (Dutchess County). Likely, yes, the fuel injectors need replacing, but they may already have been replaced.

You can easily check whether...

Rubber hose from brake fluid reservoir, 1992

Hi,

I posted last week re: some corroded (but still intact) steel brake lines. I also see the braided stainless steel flex, which is in good condition.

While looking into my brakes more, I also...

Thanks - noted.

For now, at least, it's rusted line that I want replacing - so I have the specs for that steel line in itself. Hoping that the braided stainless flex is in good condition (it...

Brake Line specifications?

Hi All,

One of my brake lines is fairly rusted (front driver's side, there's a cluster of 4 lines), and I want to replace it.

I have looked, but no success: does anyone have the specs for the...

Re: Clutch & Flywheel Replacement

Well, the ARP bolts did have a slight shoulder (say around 1/2" diameter of shoulder on the 7/16" head (IIRC)...), so that'd be about 1/16" of shoulder proud of the head... but the washers that were...
