East Texas May 2023 Event?

The new newsletter mentions something about an East Texas event this coming weekend. I don't know that I can make it, but I'm interested to know more.

Unfortunately... I can't find anything out...

Re: 1991 ZR-1 Owners need Help

#1334 is the same as #1470 pictured above: sticker on the flat part of the rim, approximately 9.5" counter-clockwise around the circumference of flat part from the valve stem. It has the two sticker...

Re: 1991 ZR-1 Owners need Help

Apparently the early cars had GM Part 10074342, which was curved to go on out outer-most part of the rim. They are rare. Someone talked about reproducing them a few years ago (maybe Joel?).

It...

Re: Sharp clicking from passenger rear half shaft area.

After thinking about it more, I'm not so sure. The nut simply retains the half-shaft, keeping it engaged in the splines. The hub (and bearings) are held in place with the three bolts to the...

Re: Sharp clicking from passenger rear half shaft area.

I wonder if the loose nut caused my right rear bearing / hub assembly to go bad... didn't notice noises until this summer - less than 75k miles. Put it up on stands and found the right rear wheel...

Re: Looking for ideas

You might consider using an ESP8266-based device. NodeMCU is one of a million variants that is very popular, but I'd look around to see if there weren't others that might fit. I believe you can use...

Re: Cracked Mono Leaf

There are a number of sources online (mostly salvage places specializing in Corvettes), of varying prices around $150. Went with one on ebay. If you are willing to change to a different spring, even...

Re: Cracked Mono Leaf

If anyone is interested in what this looks like, here's my rear spring that I just took out (under 75 k miles).

Re: South Texas Corvette BBQ Weekend - November 15 to 17, 2013

Howdy David, I'm not sure if I'm driving the ZR-1 down yet or not (depends if Gary James is bringing his wife), but we're planning on leaving north Dallas early Saturday morning and staying over...

Re: ZR-1 Trip: Maryland to Texas

Howdy Jim and David,

It was great meeting you to, and thanks for showing off the ZR-1 by driving it half way across America (and back via a different route!).

Have a safe journey!

Go for it! Some Saturday lunch at a place with plenty of parking and easy to get to for both Dallas and Ft. Worth, perhaps?

Re: Let my girlfriend drive my vette

A few months after I met my girlfriend, I was so impressed with how well she drove compared to other women I'd seen driving (besides my mom), that I let her drive the ZR-1 on the day that I wasn't...

Certainly not going to disagree with you. I've seen the temps climb several times as well on the track. It sure would have been nice if they'd put more money and effort into the...

Note that Tyler said "GM felt most owners would not operate the motor over 5500 rpm for any length of time so there would not be threat to any long term operations." I think this...

I'm sorry to say that, regarding LT5 applications, there isn't much correct in this quoted post.

"Ideal stochiometric ratio" describes a chemically balanced mixture - it has nothing to do with...

Re: 91 ZR-1 Cutting Out Under Load

Ignition modules rarely go bad, but it sounds close to the same thing that my car as my ignition module was dieing. It was worse when hot. Has the plenum ever been off for porting or repainting...

I don't blame mom for not wanting to manage both. My preference would be for keeping the listserv, but if the final decision is to shut it down, I will move over here. I suspect he is right that...
