Re: Headers

That looks like a liquidation price. If you want them, now?s the time. Mine were twice that amount. Good luck!

Re: Headers

Maximizers are stainless with a blasted texture. I had them power coated but it is not required. As I previously stated #1 tube had to be dimpled to clear the steering shaft. Other than that, a good...

Re: Exhaust doubts

I went with coated headers, MagnaFlow cats and MagnaFlow catback designed for LT1&LT4. I don't know if it had any effect on power, but I love the sound. It does have a slight bit of drone at cruise,...

Re: Headers

I have the Maximizer headers on my 91. Good quality and fit. I had to dimple #1 pipe to clear the steering shaft. I am in the Akron area if you would like to take a look.

Re: How much room do I have to shim the drivers motor mount for headers

Mine only required dimpling #1 tube by the steering shaft. I used the Maximizer headers that are the same as OBX without the polished finish.
Good Luck

Re: Lumbar Pads

You can use bladders from blood pressure cuffs. Order them on ebay. You will need three for each seat. You have to fold them for our seats. There is a youtube video showing someone doing C5 seats....

Re: Painting letters on plenum and cam covers and cleaning metal lines advice wanted

For cleaning the alternator and compressor, I use a wheel cleaner designed for bare aluminum, such as Sonus Aluminum Restore, then wipe with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly.

Re: Tire question

I went with Nitto NT555G2 and do not regret it. I have done three years of Touring laps at the Gathering and they have held up well. Not a track tire, but a good compromise and they perform well when...

Re: LT5 383?

I agree with Marty. Buy a car that has the mods done. Selling prices for modded car are not much different than stockers, and since you are going to mod it, that's money saved that you can spend on...

Re: Black top or colored top?

Painted top. When I got the car, the painted top was not included, so I bought one and had it painted.

Re: Exhaust Recommendation

IF my understanding is correct, calibration should be for the most free flowing exhaust condition. This is so that you don't run overly lean in WOT and fry something. If you have cut-outs, you might...

Re: OBX Headers a heat concern?

I bought the Maximizer sandblasted headers on sale. The sandblasted finish worked well for coating them.

Re: OBX Headers a heat concern?

Mine were done by Cerakote At Northeast Coatings. They are right down the street from me. Cerkote has regional certified application specialist. They worked out very well for me.

Re: Maybe Clutch Switch?

Without the key in, should it not be infinite resistance? The pellet in the key is the resistor. I had this problem, and solved it by bypassing the key switch with a resistor soldered in the circuit.

Re: Lumbar bladder question

Youtube has some how to's for fixing the seat bladders using replacement part from blood pressure cuffs. Something I have been thinking about. It doesn't look too difficult.

Re: Think I spun a bearing - rebuild time. Need advise.

There are other options. If you have indeed spun a bearing, Pete had a high mileage short block for sale@ $1350. He also could upgrade it to a closed deck 391 CID for $6995. That would be a great...
