Good to know. I have 2-1990 z cars, both are DNS now for 2-3 years, due to health issues. But next week I plan to begin the entire process again to find the problems.
I found in red car, the tiny white wire that runs up to key switch was broken from wear, which explains why the starter was intermittent, if I slammed upwards on steering wheel tilt option, I would get occasional connection of that broken wire.
Replaced switch, and still no start when running purple starter wire directly to battery, it will crank, but no fire. But if it sits for 3-4 days, and retry, the engine will fire for 2 seconds, then goes back to cranking over and nothing fires.
Why would it fire for couple seconds after sitting for a couple days. ?
