Default Re: Edmonds Oklahoma tornado

We are all fine. Thank you all for the concern. We were about 120 miles from home when Karen called about the storm warnings. It's a very helpless feeling when you can't be there to look after your family. Tornado warning technology is better than ever but the transition from a hanging wall cloud to a tornado on the ground happens very quickly. We were lucky in that it was only an F1 when it touched down about 5 miles NW of us and lifted after crossing I-35 about a mile north. A few minutes later, it reformed and developed into a killer F4 tornado 3/4 of a mile wide with 200mph wind speeds. Had that happened 10 minutes earlier the results would have been much worse. Nothing survives above ground and the only options are getting below ground or out of the way if you can.

We are forcast for another day like yesterday. You can bet we will be paying attention.

I had several ZR-1 friends from around the country call to check on us. It really warms the heart.......
