I spoke with a rep at Redline (Dave) and asked about their warning regarding using 100% water in non race applications. Otherwise they recommend using 15% antifreeze in street cars running air conditioning. The reason for this is minor and related to the heater core not being able to instantly react to a potential temperature adjustment by the driver. It will not freeze up, but if you suddenly wanted to raise the temperature of the cabin the heater core might not respond as quickly as someone mighty like. So for those of us in southern climates who keep the a/c temperature turned down to the max, there are no worries. I imagine that during our winters we might not get the temperature as warm as we would like, but how often is that a problem?
