Headlight covers - adhesive suggestions?
Time did in the wife's 88, headlight covers are both now off the car. Looks like the factory adhesive is still stuck to the headlight itself, the bond to the plastic cover completely let go.
Thought this was going to be a question about the right chemistry for the C4's fiberglass but the covers appear to be plastic. Best she's found on that other forum is silicone RTV. Has this happened to anyone else? I figure it'll be a case of roughing up the cover and the remaindered (hardened) spooge but sure would like to avoid dissolving anything or having a repeat in a year or 3. Thanks for your thoughts, - Jeff

Re: Headlight covers - adhesive suggestions?
If you're looking for a permanent bond it would probably have to be an epoxy type material. I think the silicone / RTV idea is probably more appropriate to allow future removal if needed for repair/paint work.
