Road & Track Fastest Cars In America (1995) VHS video
*** RE-UPLOADED THE VIDEO ***
Some vintage video for you all... This is a VHS tape I ordered from Road & Track magazine back in 1995. Features all American muscle from that year: Camaro, Firebird, Mustang, Corvette ZR-1, and Viper. Stock vs modified. The modified ZR-1 was a DRM 385. Lingenfelter won the top speed test with a 383 LT-1 Firebird. Thought you might enjoy: https://youtu.be/eD1n4yd2vWc Last edited by kz098123; 05-27-2021 at 11:09 PM. |

Something went wrong in the conversion for it during the upload to YouTube so I killed the link. Will re-upload after I try again.

Nice video!
Anyone know what gear the DRM car was using? I noticed 6th gear was suggested for the top speed run. They really liked that car and the comment about the viper vs ZR-1 made me laugh 😂.

Great video! The black DRM ZR-1 is currently owned by ZR-1 Net Registry President Mark Horner

Re: Road & Track Fastest Cars In America (1995) VHS video
Great video. I remember seeing it before but it is still fun to watch. Loved seeing John Lingenfelter. The time he came to Bowling Green and gave drag racing lessons was a very memorable time; so sad to lose him so young. The stock ZR-1 certainly acquitted itself well in top speed at 178 but whomever was driving it for the 0-60 time was a bit slower than I remember our cars going. Even according to GM's usually conservative numbers, the stock '95 ZR-1 would do 0-60 in 4.8 seconds. Anyway, thanks for posting this. --Bob
