Default Strange happenings on the Net website?

I have had a few strange things happing with the ZR1 Net website. Besides the usual getting logged off regularly in the middle of writing posts and replies. One thing I recently noticed is that sometimes the website will note the latest post on the right e.g., who has a radar detector, latest post by -=jeff=- 21 minutes ago. When I go to the last page of the post it shows -=jeff=-'s last post to be one week ago. Has happened on several posts, although not all of them. Same thing on How old are ZR-1 owners? shows Hawaii ZR1 posting one day ago but go to post and it says 3 weeks ago. Is it my system somehow messing up or is there some glitch in the net website? --Bob

Hi Paul--
On the General Discussions page, On the radar detector posts heading, what time does your screen say that -=jeff=- posted most recently under the column "last post"? Mine says 31 minutes. And if yours says three weeks ago, what kind of bug could be causing this to happen to mine?--Bob

It's 1:17 EDT here and -=Jeff=- last posted it says a week ago

http://zr1.net/forum/showpost.php?p=220663&postcount=33

But in "the last post" column to the right in just the "general tab" it mentions 1-hour

I'm going to only guess that someone has answered/responded to the "POLL" and that initiated a "hit to history". Maybe?

I always ASSUMED that's why it did that. Someone voted, but did not write a post. But still shows up as new post.

Not 100% certain ... but since I've dealt with bulletin board software on another site several years ago, I'm reasonably sure that if someone "votes" on a thread with a poll, it automatically updates the thread and kicks it to the top of the "recently read" list. I've noticed the same thing on this forum and it's a bit annoying to discover that there is no new post, especially since I make use of the new/recent posts to try to stay updated. Is it a "bug"? ... possibly, but it's more likely a "feature" that not everyone appreciates.

That makes sense. The other post on which I noticed the same thing also has a poll. Probably just updated due to a vote, not the last post. I think that explains it. I am now duly enlightened. --Bob
