I sprayed it with silicone / alcohol, and got it separated and cleaned off (no breakage).

PM @ me if you're interested. The whole lot wouldn't be more than a few bucks...

I believe I might have these fasteners sourced! I need the diameter of the plastic stud! Metric or SAE will do! I actually would prefer metric and I'm looking for 8.0 or 9.52 for the stud. If you've got a fastener loose I'd like height and external dimension. 8.99 or 10.72 OD and 5.84 height. Hopefully those dimensions will work! The fastener could be measured without removing it from the stud.

Chuck - you could accomplish that it looks like also.

I come up with approx:

10.16mm stud O.D.
11.43mm nut O.D. (at widest point (base))
5.56mm nut height

All measured with nuts still installed on console plate, so they may not be exact, but were done with a dial caliper. Should be easily within 0.05 mm.

I had narrowed my choices to 2 and located them - one of them there were 5700 on the shelf, the other 112000 due the week of 2/4. I'm inclined to believe we need those that will arrive next week. Somebody "really likes" these for something!!

The gal I spoke to is going to attempt to confirm the ship and call me in the morning. I'm guessing it's NOT "life threatening" so I'm going to wait her call. She was certainly helpful.

The product has SAE and METRIC specs that are:

SAE: stud .372 - .378

METRIC: stud 9.52mm

The other possibility is that GM had the part produced to their specification. Not unheard of. I don't have a console part here to check.

The other production part choice calls for a stud diameter of 12.7mm and that seems dramatically large considering JEP's measurements!

Dave Schrade is sending me his however I learned that these come off the earlier shift plates rather easy. Obviously the issue I had was with my pops 94 and up shifter plate where the fastners were melted into the post and had to be broken of. however is you ordered these i will pay for them. Thanks so much for all your help, GC

These need to be secured to the stud in some fashion prior to secureing the boot with the screws. I'd maybe use some Testors, emblem adhesive of some sort or what might be ideal is the black butyl that is used as windshield sealant. It sets quite securely.

I used window sealent and it worked great
