Tony D's Project corner (Oil catch cans)
Some of you guys might have seen my car at BG and never noticed my custom oil catch cans that I built for my car. Below will be my findings and details about what I did and how you can do it yourself if you want.
I first started with two old Propane torch canisters. Then cut them in half. The bottom portion was then fitted with a turned down tube, I drilled anti-snorkling holes in it. This tube is what attaches to the injector breather ports. I built two canisters but one would be sufficient for the purpose. Below is window screen that I installed. Its purpose is to catch oil that is aerated and the screen catches it and condense the mixture to return it to oil droplets that fall to the bottom. This is stage 1 of the separation. Below is the upper portion of the cylinder, I found that gutter device used to keep debris out works well in holding the stainless steel mesh in position. After I welded up the canister I started to mock up the brackets. Part 2 next thread.
