what is the mileage? $8500.00 for a high mile L-98 is a bit steep.

Honestly(please dont hate me) I dont like the interior setup of the 90's vettes, compared to the 84-89.

By interior setup i mean gauges, steering wheel........

For $8500 you are not far off a high miler ZR-1. I paid $10,500 for my 90 w/135K miles and the engine is still strong. There are 2 Zs in this range available one in AL and the other TX.

Interior is preference but to me 84-89 looks like and Arcade game.

What do you mean, "and a paint job"?
If you mean that you want or need to repaint it, forget this car as a repaint will cost $$$. If you have the money to buy this car and repaint it, you should definitely buy a ZR-1, as it is no ordinary Corvette. Just listening to the motor, much less driving it will convince you of the difference. The ZR-1 is not called the King Of The Hill for nothing.

This is also the best time to buy a ZR-1, as it is a buyers market. They are undervalued and will be going up in value like the other sought after Corvettes. So grab one now while you can get it at a reasonable price.
