Matt, you and I are a lot alike. I have a 91 ZR-1 and I am in love with it. I recently had the same thought about getting another Corvette that's a little more refined. I recently purchased a C7Z and like some of the others on here I recommend considering it. Having said that, I have test drove a C6Z and that engine is absolutely amazing. You won't go wrong with a C6Z. (Don't tell my wife but that's still on my list)

Here's a pic of my 91. It's a ZR-1 with the Haibeck 510 package. I think you'll like the color.

Best of luck and keep us posted.

Josh

Just a great color - even on a trailer

Guys, any idea how rare 2013 427 convertibles are? These seem to be a serious package combining brute force, stick shift and open air enjoyment.

The main reason I wouldn't get the C6 427 Convertible is that it was built on the base vehicle chassis and not the Z06 aluminum hydroformed chassis. It's going to suffer in stiffness quite a bit and won't handle anywhere near as well as the Z06.

But if you're not concerned with track performance, or highly spirited driving, and just prefer the drop top, then I'm sure you'll enjoy it quite a lot.

The 427 Convertible will continue it's rise to become one of the most sought after models of the C-6 generation as the years go by.
The numbers 427 make magic.
For the street, the heavier weight makes it a FANTASTIC car to drive an enjoy.
Keep your eye on these

Marty, congratulations for the new knee! I hope it's a high performance version that supports ultra quick shift!

Also I tend to agree, it's magic. The performance considerations for sure count a lot but my driving skills are as limited as my balls are. Or to put it in other words: I'm easy to impress, hahaha.
The convertible combine many numbers that tick my boxes - and I never had a drop top before. It's about time.

So... 427 Convertible added to my wishlist. And a Z06. Now I have to work out the right order...
