Talking Re: Nominations and 2009 Election for the ZR-1 Net Registry Club Board

So there will be 9 board members now, or is the Race Director going away?

I believe Jim Donahue is up for that position.

Is there a position above President??

Emporer or Dictator ??

cause i'm all over that, if there is.

If Jeff wins treasurer, first item of business as emporer
would be for the club to purchase a calculator.

The voting polls are open. You have to be a ZR-1 Net Registry member in order to vote.

To vote go to:
http://www.zr1netregistry.com/member/memberhome.htm

Login in using the username and password the registry gave you when you joined. If you forgot send me an email: zr1net@zr1.net

Thanks!

May I ask why you folks are running for these positions and what you are planning for the Registry in the next two years?

Thanks

Hammer,

Thanks for asking about why I want to be Membership Director.

I think that the ZR-1 NetRegistry is a valuable asset to ZR-1 owners and enthusiasts. Since I joined, I have learn a lot about the ZR-1 and the LT5, and I have met a lot of great people.

I would like to contribute some of my time to the organization. For me, ZR-1 ownership is a hobby. I enjoy all aspects of the ZR-1 hobby, including driving, maintenance, learning, showing, assisting others, and did I mention driving.

As a member, I have worked hard to get more members to participate in the activities of the NetRegistry and to get other ZR-1 enthusiasts to join.
Where I live in the Maryland - Northern Virginia area, a few members began with the idea of '"getting together" and now I manage an eMail list that contains 22 ZR-1 owners in a 100-mile radius. If it wasn't raining, we would be at the drag strip today racing ZR-1's

At Corvettes at Carlisle this year, I was one of the members that helped create the effective hospitality atmosphere that we had at the ZR-1 NetRegistry tent. We offered the opportunity for a lot of people, some not ZR-1 owners (yet), to relax and talk about ZR-1's. We served a lot of burgers and beverages and had a good time. This is me (in the black shirt) with Scott and Michael:

Looking to the future:

I want the ZR-1 NetRegistry to become a stronger support organization for ZR-1 owners. We have some talented and resourceful members, supporting tuners and vendors. I will work to improve the ability of a member with a question or problem to get information, and assistance.

I would like to see a program that recognizes and rewards members who are ZR-1 Community assets that we should encourage and protect.

I want to plan ahead so that in 2010, we can make the 20th anniversary of the ZR-1 a special year with events and publicity.

Now that the ZR-1 has entered the age range for NCRS participation, I want the NetRegistry to help and support those members who want to campaign a ZR-1.

Thank you for taking the time to hear what I have to say.

Jim,

It is very refreshing to see the potential for new blood in this organization.

Thank you very much for the description of your intentions. I appreciate the time you took to present yourself to this forum and look forward to seeing what happens in the next two years.

By the way, my wife and I are planning on attending the 2010 Anniversary event at Bowling Green.

John

Excellent. If we can get a lot of people talking about "the 20th..." it will happen with very little work.

You should also try to come in 2009.
