Might check the engine for matching VIN number. I don't remember seeing purple emblems on the early years. Could have one of the crate motors in it.

Where on the engine do I look for the #? And which #'s on the engine will match the VIN#?

Look on the right side if the engine, View "B" in the schematic for VIN J. Also included a picture from my last Z.
