Default Re: 91 VD Built 368 ZR1 FOR SALE

I bought the car. I figured it would be a perfect candidate for a Big Block Chevy Swap that I have always thought about. It had a big rad, big brakes, coilovers, HD Trans & 11" wheels. I have a complete 496 BBC engine sitting in my garage already. I thought I might try tinkering getting the LT5 running right. I asked about the ZR-1 wheels, he said they were sold previously.

I did not beat the guy up on price, as I thought he took it in the shorts on this project already.

I am only posting this because I think we should not bother him, as I think he would like nothing better than to totally forget his LT5 foray.

Thanks, Tim

Alnukem,

If you decide to let the complete lt5 go I'd be interested.

Dom, This is something I totally don't understand. Most of the conversions that I have read about have been mid-80's. probably due to the cheaper price of the earlier cars, they are very unloved. I know Lingenfelter did 3, I think they were 90's vintage cars.

I was going to put my 496 in a 70 LS5 car & was looking at using the "FAST" system, which is a stand alone, self tuning system.

If I can get this thing running correctly relatively easy, I probably won't even consider doing the BBC swap.

This was one of those things that I was going to do when my time was not so important, probably 3 years out. It just seemed like the perfect candidate at the right price.....an opportunity.

Any offhand suggestions?????? Thanks, Tim

ECM and FI? 1250 Dominator.

Tim, I like this idea. I have the perfect candidate and a 572 that is two hundred or so pounds lighter than the LT5.

ZR-2 BBC I like the idea.

Robert.....The Tall Blocks just aggravate the fit. Although, you can get that in a standard height block, it just max's everything out.

If you're interested, let me know, I studied pretty good on it & have a bunch of links if you want.

They say a aluminum headed, intake & water pump BBC is only 80 heavier than a standard SBC.

I think after a certain horsepower, a BBC is downright cheap compared to a LT5
