I thought the exact same thing ... but, for me, it was worth it.

Marc has a quick disconnect flange (manual) arrangement for his mufflers so he can remove the muffs at the drag strip. That has the added benefit of weight reduction prior to racing, but IIRC he also has tuned his calibration for peak performance w/o the mufflers installed. The latter is worth a moment of consideration before installing the cut-outs if max performance is the goal.

Just a though...

He has also said that taking the mufflers off is a pain and if he was going to do it again he would probably use cutouts. but either way, cutouts in front of the mufflers or simply no mufflers provide about the same HP gains. the stock mufflers are big bottlenecks. --Bob

Corsa can do a 3" system with an X pipe or 2 of them.. but they know they wont sell many systems unless we do a group buy. they told me They would consider it if I could get 25 people.. might be tough. Had the Corsa system on my 5.0 coyote Mustang. FUll 3 " dual x pipes and straight through cans. 0 resonance or drone anywhere and was a beautiful system I don't see why they couldn't make one similar for the LT5.
