I did pass a major milestone today. It passed the state inspection which included a sniff test! Now I can get it registered and some plates on it. I also went with Heacock classic car insurance.

The silver ZR-1 emblems are not bad and look pretty good against the gray, like the silver wheels against the gray. But I believe the nose and fuel door emblems are C5, Look like C6 but have an oval circle and look way out of place on the car. Just ordered correct GM new ones.

The car is cleaning up better than expected and I may take it to a show this Saturday with some friends. I am using Blue Coral lens restore on the tired old looking plastic exterior lights and they are looking like brand new NOS. The engine is the ugliest thing now to deal with. I am planning redoing the plenum/cam covers asap.

I thought changing the color of a Z was crazy. Then I saw this car. Beautiful.

Thank you! I just got back from DMV and am legal now! Until I get the front filler panel, I have a brand new Texas plate filling the space. but I hate front plates on a car.

I thought the same thing and almost passed when I found out it was a color change. The I saw it and thought "WOW"! As many have said, "this is the color it should have come in". I still need to verify the color, but I believe it is either Spiral gray or Cyber gray. Based on pictures only it leans to Cyber but lighting changes gray a lot in pictures.

Hopefully a shop can figure it out so the filler plate will match..
Somewhere on here is a way to make the filler plate easily removable. I need to find it myself actually. Will post link if I find it..
