Pretty sure 88 was the last year for the small hood struts.
My new 89 didn't have them.

High drama hood closings are a thing of the past.

I'm 6'6". Im having my upholsterer shave down or create a new lower seat cushion out of a spare seat bottom I had so that I can swap it in to drive the car and my wife an swap in the stock seat bottom should she want to drive it.

Took two steps forward yesterday and one step back.

Started at the steering rack. Dismounted the power steering cooler but the one line coming off the PS Reservoir is being stubborn. The hose clamp is off but the line wont release from the reservoir. I need this line out of the way so I can get to the line coming off of the rack for the PS Cooler. With the PS cooler in the way, I cant get to the Rack bolt that is holding that side of the rack on the body.

I got the lower bolt of the passenger side PS mount off but to reach the upper bolt, I think I need to get the inner tie rod off so I can get a wrench on the bolt to keep it from spinning when I turn the nut. Waiting on an inner tie rod tool from Amazon.

Will likely remove the radiator today or tomorrow to make more space so I can get to PS Pump etc. Will also tear apart front suspension while waiting for inner tie rod tool to arrive.

All I can think about is getting her back on the ground and hearing her breathe through her polished Corsa tips.... in 3-4 months it seems hahaha

I did indeed, sorry if I missed responding.

I removed the straps for a couple of days. I noticed I sat lower but there was an odd feeling when seated in the seat. Im hoping that by having a new cushion made, i can keep the straps attached. When I folded up a drop cloth and sat on it with the straps connected, it was alot better for head room. I just want something that looks decent in there.

No,worries. Just wanted to make sure you didn't miss a tall guy option.

I'm still curious on bottom seat cushion height on pre and post 1994 seats. I've checked and asked a lot on it, but never got a solid answer.

Do the bottom cushions on pre-94 cars come out as easily as 94-96 cars?

Im sure if its a simple task, one of the local Wazoo guys wouldnt mind me taking some comparison pictures/measurements when we get together again.

Yes,all seat styles release the cushion the same way. One wire clip on the front of the cushion to the seat frame.

hey Phil,

would you happen to have the part number for the smaller helper shocks? I didnt realize that they didnt come on the later cars.

I ordered what I thought were the proper shocks from RockAuto and received two 3 foot long shocks HAHAHA
