The sale goes on til May 17th. so maybe I'll try again or just go to Discount Tire when they have them in May.
What are the part numbers, if you have them handy

I took a picture if what they gave me - hoping you can see it in the link above.

If not the numbers were:

1441395 for the 275/40/17 AS4
1635830 for the 315/35/17 AS4

I plugged them in at costco.com and came up empty though so maybe it only means something to the tire dept.

I called Michelin direct and asked about the tire; they have made two runs of the rear size now. A first smaller batch, then just finished up a run of 1,000 315/35/17 size. Within two weeks they have most all been allocated from their distribution centers. Obviously there is a need for this size, which is good for us.

Personally, I decided I'm going to pay a little more for the Pilot Sport PS2, as it is a better tire compound for how I drive. I don't need it to function in the cold or snow and I don't need a 40,000 mile tire. If it's nasty out, I'll drive my truck.

If you don't need those two things, the Pilot Sport PS2 is a better tire in terms of sticky traction. If you do drive in those conditions or like making a cross country trip and may need to cross a mountain pass in late spring or early fall when it could snow, the Pilot Sport A/S 4 is for sure a better tire.

I hope they don't wait too long before making another run of the 315's.

FWIW, I don't think I saw this mentioned yet ... reading the fine print on the Michelin site sounds like ZR-1 folks will get 22,500 mile warranty (half mileage) instead because they can't be rotated:

"Split fitments ? If your vehicle has tires of different sizes on the front versus the rear axles, your tires cannot be rotated as recommended. Therefore, the mileage warranty on each rear tire will cover half the number of miles as the standard mileage warranty for that particular tire line."

Researching, I found that Corvette Forum has a good write up on the PS AS4 from when the tire was introduced for the C8 (including some related videos). It seems that while the tire line has been out for a while (hence the intro on the C8 that has been out a few years now) it is the 315 rear size that is new and important for C4 ZR-1. See the link below:

https://www.corvetteforum.com/articl...-tires-review/

I think the following quotes from the article are the most interesting ones:

All-Season 4 Michelins are no standard summer tire . . . Hell, they're grippier than plenty of name-brand summer tires while offering the flexibility of year-round safety and performance.

...I'm willing to wager these 'all-seasons' out-grip a lot of so-called summer tires.

Hell, if this tire had come out in the 80s or 90s, we would have hailed it as an amazing summer tire.

Obviously we are waiting to hear from a C4 ZR-1 owner who tries these on their car to get a real impression. But given that these are some of the most modern tires with the most up-to-date tire technology, is there any guess on how they will compare the other tire options for the C4 ZR-1? For example how would this All Season modern Michelin tire compare with the following:
  • PS AS4 vs factory chosen C4 OEM tires (Goodyear Eagle Gatorback and Eagle GS-C)
  • PS AS4 vs later aftermarket Goodyear options (Goodyear F1 Eagle GSD3)
  • PS AS4 vs current aftermarket options (Toyo Proxes R888R - non street, Toyo Extensa HP II, Hoosier A7/R7 - non street, Nitto NT555 G2, Nitto Motivo)

Finally even with the mis-sized 335/35 width instead of the factory 315/35 sizes, how would the modern Michelin PS AS4 which were introduced in 2020 compare with old Michelin Pilot PS2 summer tires that were introduced in 2004? How much would 16 years difference make in performance?

I just ordered a set today Tire Rack, normally when there is a rebate it shows directly on the tires, and nothing there.... Later tonight I came in via the following link:

https://www.tirerack.com/content/tir...guna-Seca.html

and looks like tire rack will have a $70 rebate card for Michelin purchase 3/13-5/17.

** update 4/18 - contacted tire rack and looks like this was a Mid-Ohio promotion only, so I'm not sure why I was targeted with web page that had laguna seca my local CA track near by. If I can load up the rebate form I will but looks like only helpful to Ohio ZR-1 owners LOL
