Some great documentation Mark, and a really time capsule. Your pictures here are going to give me a good starting point to document what still remains on #941 after 21k miles.

A couple additional tags I have found on my car were on the MAP and FPR hoses, there are skinny white PN tags attached.

Driver side shock cap. Looks like the 68th day of 1990...

INTERESTING!!!

Puzzled about the top.
The masking tape was done at the factory, and should match the last numbers of VIN.

They should be stamped on the roof frame as well.
If the stamped number equals the VIN that would be good, but still would not explain the 470 on the tape.

Switched / mismatched at dealer perhaps??

Thanks for sharing the pictures with the progress!!

Marty

Marty,
I had the same concern on my 90 #277 where the masking tape is 873. Checked the VIN stamp on frame of clear roof and it matches to car. The tape sticker should match the Build Sequence Number as it does on my car.
Hope this helps.
Joel

The interior of this ol' heap is back to day one. The chassis and the motor box are each 90% cleaned and the exterior is scheduled for a detail by the end of July. After that, just waiting on a call from Marc Haibeck.
I've enjoyed the rescue👍

Excellent preservation and display work. Very interesting seeing the car with all the delivery protection and notes as if it just got off the truck.

I am in Germany waiting to deliver an airplane to Israel however, the car was detailed today in KY. Young man is very good and took care not to remove the orange peel.
Now, I'm just waiting for Marc Haibeck to tell me when I can deliver it to him...
