Default Interior questions

I am changing the interior in my car from red to black. I have 2 questions.
1. Does anyone know who make console side panels. I can find them for older C4's but not our years.
2. To change the hard plastic parts to black I have heard that you can either paint it black, or use carpet stain and stain them black. What works best?

Thanks in advance
Chris

Hard plastic needs to be painted with the proper % of flattening agent after being primed with the proper materials. There are specialty (or used to be) shops that colored plastic parts for interiors as the OE vendors (all of them) serviced a single color and you then colored to match for nearly all production pieces. Corvette was an exception for many years. I'm going to say you CAN'T stain the plastic parts and maybe not be able to successfully paint them just because of the deterioration of some of the parts.

I would think you could find what you need in black and not need to color yours. If yours is nice they should sell to offset most of the expense.

Where is Scrrem?! He went from tan to black for his 90. I'm sure he has some pointers.

Thanks all. I think I have a line on a complete black interior. As always, you guys are the best. BTW may carry is sun rotted, and a lot of the hard parts are pretty bad. I will post up what I have left when I am done with the install.

Thanks again

Chris
