Brighter Aftermarket Headlamps
We all know the stock headlamps in ZR-1s–all C4s for that matter–majorly suck. If that bothers you and you want to do something about it, I have two sets of aftermarket, quartz-halogen headlamps for sale.
Both use H4-type, "high/low beam," quartz-halogen bulbs. Both sets have metal reflectors and glass lenses. One set are E1-coded lamps made by Hella in Germany and have 80/55-watt bulbs. The other set are E2-coded lamps made by the French company, Cibie and have 130/100-watt bulbs Both sets come with light bulb dust boots. Both sets are bolt-ins, that is: you take out your stock glass or plastic, sealed-beams and put in the aftermarket lamps. You may need to re-aim the headlamps to your satisfaction. Either of these aftermarket headlamp sets will give you better lighting during night driving. 40-bucks plus shipping for the Hellas. 50-bucks plus shipping for the Cibies. So far, I'm impressed with their performance. The only downside I see is the price. They are pretty costly considering you can get Hella E-Code lights for 120 a set from some vendors. On the other side of the coin, if you compare Nighthawk LEDs to one of the few HID conversions which actually work well, they are less expensive. My Nighthawk LED testing is not done yet and, at the CAC, we also haven't finished necessary image work for the review. There seems to be some interest, so when the review is done, I'll post the URL here. Since this was originally an FS thread but is not more of a tech thread about lights, maybe one of the administrators should move this thread to a more appropriate forum?

I put a set of Cibie H4's on my full-size Bronco and it was almost the best mod I did to that truck. They were flat freaking amazing, and the cut-off for low beams was perfect. I liked them so much I moved them to my new (same era) f350.
You guys are going to like these, but I'm a cautious guy so I made sure to put them on high for 10 minutes then check the wiring temp. Come to think of it I didn't do that on the new truck - yet. Cheers, - Jeff

Instead of watching the wiring temperature, I check the current draw with an EXTECH MA220 clip-on DC ammeter. (The handiest tool for tracing electrical gremlins too.) Knowing the wire size, I know the maximum safe current the wire can handle.
