Default Re: C68 HVAC Programmer Compatibility for 1990

When you put it together and turned the key for the first time did you wait until the blower went to full speed? As I recall the blend door needs to calibrate before using the unit. You need to do this every time you disconnect the battery as well.

Off question, what is the color combo of your 1990? My buddy had a 1990 and we swapped the programmer for a 94-96 unit and it worked fine. He has since sold it and it changed hands a couple times, maybe that is the car you have now

Having read about that on here prior to playing with it, yes, I have been doing this.

My car has a Bright Red exterior paint with a Cognac interior. It's No. 729, with an 89/321 manufacture date. I bought it in North Carolina in 2014 SEP; previous owner was an orthodontist...I think.

The number on the HVAC programmer casing matched what some sites claim is that from a 1994, but Batee didn't recognize it. The logic board was "old style" with the number on the big chip being 16144367. It had to be replaced because that cooked diode on the back is unidentifiable without jeopardizing a functional board to run tests or further jeopardizing that board by swapping in a whole bunch of different diodes to see if one works properly. The board was working fine until it wasn't.

Does the logic board really need to be LT5-specific or can it be sourced from any compatible model year Corvette? I have to believe the LT5 versions are getting as rare as DIS modules, but for some reason they don't also cost a grand and a half...yet.

I would think a regular corvette one would work as I know the control head will swap
