You made me stop to wonder how long I have been in. Anyone remember when we started the ZR-1 Net Registry? Maybe 1998? 2000? Can't remember. Regardless of the actual date, I have been "in" a long time, especially if you count my membership in the original ZR-1 Registry which began in 1994. --Bob

Oh my God! 1.994!! Reading your words I can remember that in 1994 I was 17 years old and was at my first University year with a big obsession on my mind: finding and owning a ZR-1.

Twenty years later... 2.014 dream came true!! And here I am forever and a day.

I can't get in, it keeps sending me around in circles. Can I just send cash down? I am really gonna miss cash when we become a cashless society

Thanks Dean--I remember having a lot of fun in those days with that little Registry newsletter as our primary means of communication and the get togethers at Bloomington Gold when it was originally in Bloomington. Still, what year did the ZR-1 Net Registry appear? Anyone remember? Where is Dave Bright when we need him? --Bob

Actually, my interest in ZR-1s first began about the same time, although I was a bit older than you. In July 1993 I went down to Bloomington Gold (still in Bloomington IL then) and saw the LT5 being demonstrated by some GM engineers, who did the famous "balancing a nickel on the plenum" trick on a running engine. I was very impressed with that when combined with the look and power of the engine. Joined the nascent ZR-1 Registry right then by signing up with its late founder Larry Merow, and started searching for my own ZR-1. Focused on '93 and '94 cars as they were the newest, rarest and highest horsepower. Found one about a year later an bought it in October 1994: my 1993 Quasar Blue (one of seven in Quasar Blue). Owned it to 2007 when it went on to its next caretaker, Jim Voter, who still has it. I twitched for a few years then in 2011 realized I could put a lift in my 2 car garage and got my 1995 Polo Green Z which I kept until my newer C7 Z06 in 2016. I'm still having Corvette fun. Glad you have also been able to achieve your dream. --Bob
