Wow, Jeff! Very nice job!! BTW, where was your Z parked before you got it?? I looks (by all the dust) as tho it was behind someone's barn on some Kansas plains with hood and windows open! Anyway, it looks like it is coming along very well. I especially like the two-tone leather seats and carpet scheme. That will be my "winter project" too; new carpets (among other things, e.g. P&P, etc.)

Looking forward to seeing it (in June at the Bloomington G., if not before!)

When I got the car the carpet and padding was not useable. As I removed most of it I found that the passenger side hush Panel had been dyed, when I got the Windows sitcker and build sheet from the NCM I found the car originally had red interior. Prior to the NCM info I decided to do red/black in the car. I had just finished a pair fo red/black 92 sport seats for my 89 and decided to put the OEM Standard red back in the 89 and use the 92 seats. The seats in the Z were vinyl. the red/black leather is from Corvette America

I cleaned the door panels and found deals on carpet.. the floors, center cargo and 'wall' behind seats are using Black carpet from a 90. Sills are torch red from a 94-96, center console are custom with 94-96 Torch red. Sides in cargo are Torch red from a 94-96 as are the speaker grilles. the plastic dog leg is also from a 94-96 so I did the torch red/black interior. I liek the look of the Torch red sill when the door is open (outside looking in)

Door panels are Torch red from a 93, a friend wanted the black 94-96 so I sold them to him and bought the red.

Seat belts are from a 96 LT4 car. I REALLY like the look all Ineed now is the balck carpet from a 94-96 (I like the tru-vette texture) if I don't get the floors I atleast want the hatch piece.

I'm gonna guess it is the dark color car just SE of photo center sitting next to what might be another vehicle??? with something white in or above it. That that would explain the dust.

But, it is amazing to me how someone could let a $62K car ($100k in today's money) deteriorate to the condition you found yours in. Man, I tell ya...The Corvette PO-lice shoulda been giving them a few tickets for that!!!

Very Cool Jeff! Thanks for the explanation!

After all the interior work you've been doing, maybe you can answer a questiion I have. The shade or cover that covers the hatch area rides in channels on each side of the interior in the back, at the end of each track (front) there were thumb screws on mine, that were there but not screwed into anything. I discovered this last weekend while replacing my antenna. Any clue?

Thanks

Rick

the Thumb screws are they mounted Vertical or horizontal? my guess is to keep the shade in place. the Crappy GM holders will hold it in place but the shade tends to fall below the track and get stuck. I have the aftermarket Anti-rattle clips
