Default FS: 1991 Chevrolet ZR-1 NCRS Top Flight (99.5%) survivor. 9894 miles

<<<<<<<Car has been sold>>>

FWIW, I'm not leaving the group (membership approved for 2020) I've decided that this car is too original to modify and it would be a great addition to a collection or at least a garage where it will be driven and enjoyed the way it is. Once it finds a new home, I will reveal the LT5 I'm replacing it with....

What makes this car unique ( besides it low mileage) is that

1) It's low production Dark Red Metallic exterior (97/2044 in 1991)
2) California Emissions Car
3) ALL the mechanical & known ZR-1 issues have been addressed
4) Earned an NCRS top flight award on its first attempt - score of 99.5%
5) Complete LT5 top end paint restoration looks better than new
6) Overall, it is in AMAZING condition and show ready the way it sits. The new owner could easily go forward in the NCRS award process or could drive it just the way it is.

Cars History:

- Originally delivered to Prospect Motors Jackson California (dealer exec car)
- 3/12/1992 Sold to the second owners in Colorado where it remained in the same family until I purchased the car 10/18.
- Full mechanical service has been completed along with a cosmetic restoration of the LT5 top end engine paint. Car was driven for `250 miles before its final detail prior to judging.
- 8/19 Car received an NCRS Top Flight award at the Oklahoma judging event with a score of 99.5% w/ no bonus driving points.

Color is Dark Red Metallic ( 1 of 97) over black leather sport seats. It was ordered with and has both tops along with the California emissions option ( NB6).

Car is a 100% original survivor down to the windshield wipers, brake pads/rotors ad FX3 bilstein shock absorbers.

A full mechanical service has been completed including

-Transmission fluid replacement
-Synthetic Engine oil / filter replacement (twice in my 250 miles of ownership)
-Rear differential lubricant replacement
-Brake Fluid flush/replacement
-Hydraulic clutch fluid flush/replacement
-Engine coolant flush/replacement including radiator (new old stock date coded coolant hoses were sourced and installed along w/ a new thermostat).
-Power steering fluid flush/replacement
-Both Fuel pumps, fuel filter and all 16 injectors have been replaced with ethanol compatible components.
-Headlight motor bushings have been replaced
-Every capacitor in the Bose Gold system has been replaced (CDM & all 4 amplifiers). CD player has been serviced.
- A/C compressor was rebuilt w/ new seals. All system o-rings and dryer have been replaced. Car has been recharged with its correct R-12 refrigerant.

Items addressed during the cosmetic restoration of the LT5 paint

-Coil packs were tested to be perfect
-ALL top end gaskets were replaced injector housing/plenum/TB/ cam plugs/coolant outlets/T-stat housing/ fuel rail, injector o-rings/ etc
-Starter was disassembled/cleaned/tested/reinstalled
-complete secondary vacuum system was cleaned/tested
-entire 12 volt power distribution block cleaned/reassembled
-Radiator & A/C condenser were externally cleaned ( radiator flushed)
-all accessible LT5 external bolts were removed/cleaned/reinstalled/torqued to spec
-ENTIRE ENGINE BAY was detailed to a high standard.

Everything on the car is in 100% functioning order.

-FX3 suspension
-ABS braking system
-HVAC system (Including A/C)
-both sport seats including the air bladders
-low pressure tire monitoring system
-headlamps, interior, exterior lighting, rear window defroster
-power windows
-emissions air pump system
-LT5 secondary system
-power windows, locks, mirrors
-Bose Gold Stereo system including CD player, Tape deck, pwr antennae
-interior key chime
-full power key
-rear hatch and hood gas struts

Documentation included with the car

-original tank sticker
-NCM build sheet(s)
-NCM window sticker(s)
-Clean Car Fax Report
-Complete Pizza box including all the important NCRS judged items
-form fit soft sided car cover.
-printed and digital scans of the NCRS judging sheets from 08/19
-All original parts that were replaced during its mechanical service along with spare oil filters, K&N air filter are included

Most of the pictures are with the second set of original GM 94-95 A-mold wheels with new michelin pilot sport tires installed. ( available separately).

Car comes with the original wheels with original/ functioning low pressure sensors/warning decals in place and period correct Goodyear gatorback tires for judging purposes or car shows.

Located north of Denver, Co about 15 miles. I can pick up any potential buyer at DIA. I can also deliver w/in a reasonable distance.

I enjoy the cars but not the "Game" of buying/selling. Rather than consign the car or list it for top dollar , I've listed the car at what I think is a fare price based on historic/recent sales along with the condition/mileage/NCRS status it has been awarded...

A car like that, with all that documentation would probably do well at Barret Jackson...Rare color...Looks sharp with the A-molds..

I'm not willing to roll the dice on a "no reserve" auction and these cars dont get much love in an auction environment, with few exceptions. I feel the best place for cars like these are with Marty in NJ. Unfortuneatly, I live 2000 miles away from him.

Ive thought about it. Z's havent done that well on BaT. I guess we'll see where the white 95' goes thats currently listed. Maybe that red/red 90' at BJ will put these cars onto collectors radar.
