Before DRL's, I noticed I used to get cut off in black cars with a higher frequency than any other color of car...people just don't notice them.

I agree. I never will agree that drl's add safety. If somebody can't see a 3000+ lb car coming down the road, in either daylight or a bit cloudy, then you should not be driving a car.

Must be a conspiracy to sell more light bulbs.

I guess Canada is more progressive as a national safety code. If something makes you more visible in the day. It works. You have seen em and that's the point. So it's about safety not really a debate.

I use only the fog lights for D R L. Why not? They're bright and give decent illumination to see and be seen on those gray days, in tunnels, etc. You just have to remember to them off.
And so it goes..

I dislike the factory DRL solution but agree with the idea of DRL to make you more visible. I use the driving lights (manually). I looked at the web electrics kit and thought it looked good but wasn't happy with the idea of cutting in to the harness. With the quality of drivers around here anything you can do to be seen isn't enough.

Insurance stats show Black is in more accidents. Red is in least.
