Default Tuning

I ordered the apu1 tuning kit through moates.net and when I went to pull my memcal today it says z-ind race program. Is it still ok to piggyback this chip with the g1 adapter?

Yes. But you'll need a calibration for the APU to run the motor with. So you should read the cal off the Z-IND prom and download it into the APU for emulation. You'll use the APU to read the cal but in order to do that you need header pins to insert into the prom and then place it into the APU. Also need TProRT

I guess I need an explanation on specifically how to get started. I know how to tune, just no instructions really on how to get everything ready I suppose.

Pick up the $8E and $8EA definition file. Need make sure ur using the right mask. Load the bin file into TP, then the Mask, then read the either the
Injector # or cylinder volume. Injectors should be 22.8 and the cylinder volume is.71. Don't save bin using wrong mask.

I guess my problem is finding the auah bin? The 8ea is almost impossible to find. I found it on a gear head website but had to register to download it. That was 3 days ago and still no confirmation email.

Hey Guys,

I can't wait to learn this stuff myself one day. It sounds like a foreign language, but I know this is key to getting individual cars running just right. This would be an awesome workshop to have at the Gathering one day. "Tuning 101"

Aloha,

Craig
