It was unfortunate Irene spoiled our party this year chasing us off early.

Hats off to Jim, Darrin and all of the members who made this event the success it was.

A special HUGE thank you to David Johnson for coordinating the event and making this year at Carlisle another excellent event.

THANK YOU DAVID!!!!!!!

Wish I could have stayed longer Saturday, but had to get back to tend to the monsoon.

Will you be posting the raffle winners????

John

Some more pictures. Here I have the honor to pose with Mike Beal and his ZR-1 convertible. Joining me are Marc Haibeck and David Johnson:

The "ZR-1/ZR1 Through the Years" display was amazing. Thanks to David's hard work and the generosity of the owners of some special Corvettes, every one got to see an example of every ZR-1 made. Here is a 1990 white ZR-1 with 22 miles on it. Thank to Roger's Corvettes for bringing this beautiful car to Carlisle:

Some more of the ZR1's in the collection:

Here are the 1970, 1971, and 1972 Corvettes with the 454 Cubic inch ZR1 option. These may be the rarest Corvettes made:

And here is another look at the ZR-1's and a beautiful blue sky that, unfortunately didn't last much longer:

Absolutely KILLER work on the ZR-1 Display...!! Great attendance, despite the threat of Hurricane Irene. David, as always, you out-did yourself. And, both Lou and I are proud to have had AllVette sponsor the '91 ZR-1 Giveaway Corvette...!! All-around, another wonderful Corvettes at Carlisle...!!

Thanks David and Jim for a phenomenal Corvette's at Carlisle experience! You guys did an amazing job on the ZR1 display and activities, and I only wish Sunday was not a wash out.
I had so much positive feedback from Corvette lovers about the ZR1's on display it made me proud to be a lucky owner of one... While moving my 1991 ZR1 to allow another vehicle to be shipped out, I was greeted by Gordon Killebrew and David McLellan, who went over my car with me and shared some really cool insights and history.
Then, to my utter suprise, Gordon handed me a Celebrity choice certificate at the same moment my wife won the ZR1 Net Registry raffle drawing for the Extreme Detail... Wow! what a great day.
On Sunday at 1pm we returned to the fairgrounds for the award ceremony, to find the ZR1 tent had collapsed and only a few stragglers remained, but somehow we found Lance Miller (what a nice fella), the co-owner of Covette's at Carlisle, and got our trophy... 27mpg on the way home, all in all a great weekend.
I can't wait till next year!

I sure do miss Carlisle. I haven't been since moving to FL back in 2004. I'll definitely be there next year to meet lots of fellow ZR-1 owners!
