Default Corvettes at Carlisle was a great success

Despite the threat of Huricane Irene, The ZR-1 Net Registry participation in Corvettes at Carlisle was a great success. The fantastic display of all of the Corvettes in the ZR-1 (ZR1) lineage was the highlight of the entire C@C event. Many visitors came to the exhibit and there were thousands of photos taken. There were lots of questions about ZR-1's and the King of the Hill was brought to the attention of the masses.

The Registry tent, in our new location near the Midway was very visible. We became the most active and busy area in the whole show. Many people stopped by and chatted.

The Registry Hospitality was well recieved. We served burgers and sodas to about 500 people and we made sure that everyone stayed hydrated.

With the help of our fine sponsors, the Registry Raffle raised $1215. Thank you to:

I want to give a special thank you to David Johnson. David is our Activities and Events Director. David's hard work and organizational skill made this event a success. WELL DONE!!

I will post some pictures as soon as things settle down.

Jim

Good question Lee. In all the excitement I lost track. I am not even sure when the drawing was going to be held, Just about everyone left Saturday evening due to the weather.

I went to Hershey on saturday and drove past the fairgrounds today and it was dead so I didn't bother swinging by I figured everyone had left. Sucks that the storm rolled through but it was pretty hot on friday spent about 4 hours there with a friend of mine she was shopping for a corvette!

It was unfortunate that Irene chased many of us away prematurely. It was a spectacular showing. Congratulations to David Johnson - an enormous amount of effort must have gone into this, and it showed. Having so many ZR-1s gather like this is a tribute to our fondness for the Beast and the Registry and its' members. It was a moment none of us will forget.

Good time at Carlisle , it's getting to be quite an event for us. It was great seeing everyone. Darn Irene had us leaving early Saturday morning.

The weather got progressively worse. We hit bans of rain on the way home. We were actually driving into the storm. They had mandatory evac. Saturday night. There were wind's steady at 70 and gusting to 100 mph by Sunday morning.
