I changed my fuel pumps last summer after car was started after sitting 5 years.
It started, left it idle for 15 mins, car died. It appeared as empty on gas gauge, so put in some fuel, car would not start, not fire.
Decided to change fuel pumps. I found one pump at auto parts store, and one pump for a older gmc suburban 454 fuel injected, from GM store.
Both pumps seemed to be a close match and cheaper price, so installed them and fuel filter .
Car is NO START, no fire, but has the 50 lbs pressure to top of engine.
Checked spark plugs, they seemed a bit weak for spark, but they all working.
Car will Not Start.
I had a mechanic friend work on the car, bypassed the VATS system using a GM "VATS INTERAGATOR" tool I have, and we run a expensive scan tool, could not find any codes.
I even swapped the ECM out with my other matching LT5, but No Start.
I don't know where to go at this point.
Any HELP out there ?

is the engine turning over ? or just click and nothing? Assuming you can hear the starter turn and try. Just had to ask my car wouldnt fire at a gas station one random day and it was the clutch switch. I absolutely dont mind posting in this thread at all but creating a new one will get best exposure so everyone can see it and chime in

Yes, the starter works perfect, and we even used a VATS INTERAGATOR to bypass the theft system.

Have you checked the injectors?

I had an issue getting my fuel pump assembly back in the tank. Taking it out and all that only took a few minutes actually. The socks did concern me, but I did something similar with zipties. I just hope it all works okay.

Yes the whole thing slides down from the top into the tank. Just have to remove the lid (4 screws) the rubber drain shield thing (not sure what its called) and the 10 or so bolts and fuel lines on the pump assembly to the tank. Its not very difficult at all. It may look like it cant fit but it does quite easily. a few slight turns while going down is all it takes. [/QUOTE]

Great write up on the pumps. I went thru that task.
About my NO START, after new pumps, ....
I don't know how to check injectors. But I also can't understand how all 8 injectors would fail at one time ???

They don't all have to fail at once...ask me how I know. I brought up the injectors because it sounds like you have pressure up to rails. There's been more than a few threads about how to check your injectors (either on or off the car).

Could be something else, but if you haven't checked the injectors, it might be a good place to start.
