Default taking pictures of parts

Hey guys, I know a lot of you have questions on parts on identifying stuff or asking if something is worn down. What helps is first a good quality camera. The second is using the macro function on the camera for getting the small parts.

Example

The original image was 3.26Mb. at 3264 x 2448. It has been reduced to 800 x 600 and is now 427Kb

Quality camera is the key.....I use macro and after 15 shots it gives me borderline acceptable pic.

Nah...I don't believe in using pics on a forum .

Most of the pics I shoot for car things are 7 meg files (raw or tiff) that I keep on my computer and then compress (jpeg) for posting. When I need to look up details and the pic is high res nice to have an image at 32x24" range. Ellen and I do a lot of underwater digital imaging and use a Mac for that and PC for everything else.
