Default Negative Camber?

Educate me please. I absolutely love the way this car corners. It does get ?over reacting? at high speeds. It is quite noticeable, in a good way really in general. It seems excessive and I am wondering why? Just tilt your head sideways while looking at the pictures..... Idk

From 1983 to 90 I worked at an independent tire shop. I did anything suspension and 2 and later 4 wheel alignments. Most cars come from the factory with up to 1 degree of positive camber. Auto manufacturers were most concerned with ride quality first and foremost not performance. I had many owners who auto crossed come to me with their own individual specs. To the auto crossers tire wear wasn't a concern. Remember with the Corvette you also have rear camber and toe adjustments. There are baselines for daily drivers, street performance, auto cross, and full on track usage. Here is a link with some recommendations for different usages.

If your bubble level method is accurate then the tire has about 2 degrees negative camber. I've run more for road course track handling but street max I like is about 1.5 front and .5 rear.

Thanks for the info! I was a little concerned about the stance of the front tires until I confirmed that they both sit the same way. Mike, I wish I had that spanner wrench you were looking for, this car sits a tad too low for the roads l run on.

The tires are dated March of 2016 and are wearing well, surprisingly.

I would definitely say this setup corners much more confidently than the stock Camber set up. It does keep you on the steering a bit more on a straight bumpy road though.

Did you ever lower your 368 in the rear yet? We are wanting to trade adjustments lol.

check your caster also,thats your handling feel in the steering reaction/camber is your handling footprint,grip

As a long time Autocrosser, I can also say check the toe. Toe out in the front will make it very lively on the slow track, but a bit nervous at speed.

I think the bottom line here is that you should hit an alignment shop and at the least see what it's set at.

Because the car is lowered you may need to visit Firestone for the alignment. My current Z is setup virtually the same except for the bump steer kit.

I'm in over my head understanding all that! Great to know we can dial the drive in with such detail. I'm not going to change anything yet. I didn't notice anything different driving this home 1200 miles besides it was quick to change positions in the lane at 85mph when the road was uneven. After leaving the interstate system and driving on my home turf is when I noticed how it carved out the road differently. Then I have to be completely honest, when cleaning the filth out of the engine compartment I freaked out when I saw how CROOKED my front tires were!

That's when I googled....Camber....to calm myself down.

I have learned a ton already!
