Maybe if you're familiar with D3s, this (some first-hand) might help with the KDWs (I had).

A 2008 ish? Car And Driver skid pad test l saw put the KDWs @ the top of all the tires tested; pulling over .95+G. Second to them in that test was the Goodyear -D3's pulling (IIRC) .93(ish) on the dry pad.

However, the KDWs really sucked in the wet skid pad portion; pulling only .5x G's, down from the high .90s on dry. But, more important, they were not "well behaved" when they lost traction in the wet (primarily): they broke traction suddenly as opposed to transitioning into a controlled skid!

And, from personal experience, should I go for a bit of winter driving, they would get hard and "greasy" on dry pavement, and down right scary slick on a patch of ice or packed snow. And too, in that regard, the D3's weren't much better when they got cold. I got the sense one really had to watch his P's n Q's (read: NO spirited driving below 30ºF) on either.

Yeah I should consider rain/wet driving although I don't get caught in rain that often.. I guess when I look at the what these will cost VS a NEW set of PS2s.. the KDWs sound like a good deal

I still have a set...I'm almost ashamed to tell y'all the date codes, but they are bagged, tagged, and waiting to be mounted.
Got these from a guy in L.A. and yes...they are wide like the GS-D3's

Keep in mind Vredestein is still making tires in stock and larger sizes.

I was very interested in the Vredestein tires. Unfortunately, the size availability is a bit of hit and miss looking at their website.

THANKS
Why would you want to replace Pilot Sports with the KDW?

If the Pilot Sports are worn out and these are a good price i would switch.. But I think I still have life on them.

Unfortunately I don't have the funds for a new set of PS tires. but it looks as if I don't need them for a couple years so I will probably pass on the KDWs.

Still determining what I will do and need to confirm the tread depth on my current tires
