Default Re: Stopped by the Ford Museum

Sometimes you forget how fortunate you are to grow up in Metro Detroit. The Henry Ford Museum was a place that marked the end of the school year for a lot of kids growing up in Detroit. We got to visit the place and spend the day. After all of these years, it was still interesting to go back with my kids, who are now teenagers, and visit the place all over again. Glad you enjoyed the trip Phil.

Very true, Joe. The Ford Museum and Greenfield Village are musts for anyone visiting the Detroit area. I'd also recommend a stop at the GM Headquarters at the Renaissance Center. GM just renovated the ground floor which now also serves as a museum to Chevrolet's racing history. They have some great race cars on display (Corvettes are obviously well represented), and Chevy's history in IndyCar is also well documented with cars, engines, trophies, pictures and race suits on display. GM has also added a store on the 2nd level. I'd highly recommend this as a day trip for locals and a stop for visitors. (GMRENCEN.COM)
