They are assembled by Performance Distributors in Memphis, who specialize in racing ignitions and related parts. Google them for more info.
I've had them in my car for twenty years and(60K) mi.after a stock coil pack went bad. Based on that, I would recommend them.

I checked, and it was twenty years, not fifteen. They're still firing fine.

I used to be a die hard MSD fan. Have used their products on many cars. But now that they are made in China, they are no better than the rest of the Chinese products. The materials have a too high recycled content (and poor substitutions) and the assembly labor is not "professional". All to save a couple bucks..... Their reputation has gone out the window.

24 years

19,000 miles

Original AC Delco coils, wires, plugs and injectors.

I am many years older than the car, with far more miles, and except for 1 hip, I still have all of my original parts.

If it's good enough for me, it's good enough for the ZR-1.

If / When I change them, I would use the AC Delco based on the performance of the original parts and on the results of the poll of the Registry Brethren.
Perhaps both would run better with new parts; Then again, perhaps not.

Your really hard pressed to find parts still made in the USA. I still have my original AC Delco coils which we switched out when the first plenum pull was performed. I have replaced them with the MSD's and they are working fine. The rebuilt alternator on the other hand only lasted a few months and I just changed it out again recently with the 200Amp unit I have. Even members have had problems with that unit.
The point I am trying to make is that for alot, not all of the electrical parts for any vehicle is now more a crap shoot, rather than a given for performance and longevity. So we take our chances and hope that what we purchase will last and perform a very, very long time......

Damn, that sucks. I have a new set of MSDs, but I guess I?ll leave stock AC Delco in there as long as they work. I?ll check if my set are made in China if that makes a difference. MSD used to be a good brand to count on. [emoji22]

Yeah its really frustrating, so many once high quality, trusted brands are outsourcing production and the result is cheap junk. Moog is another example I've heard of people having issues with. I'll pay more for the good stuff... but it's so hard to find good stuff anymore as branding often means nothing these days, ugh.

I hear you on that. I do not mind spending more for you get what you pay for, but not if the quality is not there any more. Of all the coils Rockauto has, I might be willing to try only 3 of them. The AC Delco has one of the shortest warranties of only 12 months. The SMP ($26.79) shows limited lifetime, but when you go to details only 3 years/36K miles. Not that I have ever been able to use warranty for parts like this. I did not know that NGK has a coil for our cars 3/36K. I guess the only way to find out is to try.
