Rush91, Optima are great batteries. I have their 1200 battery charger. Does a great job in assessing the battery, charging and maintaining. I need to start paying more attention to the Z. Without sounding like I am bragging but I have a 70LT-1 that is having the engine rebuilt and preparing it for the fall Hilton Head Concours that has been consuming my time.

I don't see that as bragging....If I owned a factory fresh, 376HP LT-1, I'd SO be bragging lol!! Besides our Beasts, If I owned another Vette it would be a 1970 -1972 LT-1. I'd love to see some pics of that engine bay when done

Just got the LT home last Sat. The 70 LT-1 has 370hp. Will upload some pix over the next few days. I do have to take it back to the shop. Hot idle will not hold. Runs great but stopping I have to keep my foot on the peddle to stop it from stalling. Mechanic walked me thru to disconnect the TCS to isolate the problem. We think it is a carb issue. The carb was rebuilt but could have a crack that when heats up causes a vacuum issue. I'll leave that to the mechanic to figure out.

I bought a battery insulator but is not what I thought it would be. It houses the entire battery with side terminal holes but no bottom. Dumb! Need a bottom to help contain acid leaks. That will go back and will get just a bottom like you have depicted in the pix.
