Default What wheel do I have?

What wheel do I have?

When I bought the Z in April, there were two different rear wheels on it. While both are chromed 17x11 “ZR-1” style, the right rear is deep-lug and has the correct 36mm offset. The left rear has a shallower lug area and I’m sure isn’t the correct offset (50/54mm or whatever it is). This is the "correct" RR I'm trying to match:

You can see how the RR is “even” with the fender

while the LR is tucked in.

I’d like to get another “correct” wheel to match the RR, but I don’t know what it is. The “incorrect” LR is marked “AFS inc.”

Here’s everything on the inside of the RR that I’m trying to match
FR
17x11 (funny symbol that looks like an H - see pic)
Made in USA
B061903 6031962

The lug area is recessed a little more than 3” on the “correct” RR wheel I have. When I contacted two aftermarket wheel supplies, they indicated the lug area on their ZR-1 style wheels wasn’t that deep.

Anyone know what wheel this is?

The "Made in USA" to me would suggest an AFS wheel made from like 2002ish or earlier. Now they are made in China, and have a shallower center and sometimes a more squared-off spoke profile.

You may have a difficult time finding one available that's already chromed.

Andrew has a nice set of OEM wheels for sale at a very reasonable price.

If you're trying to match the R/R it's a "call and question" situation. There's not many that even show an 11/36mm wheel any longer.

Detroit wheel is an exception. They still do. I believe they're only done through dealers presently. JEGS looks to be maybe the more reliable of the dealers.

Here's a link: http://www.jegs.com/i/Detroit-Wheels...oductId=751860

Call and ask.

Do a "wanted to buy" on this and maybe the other Corvette Forums. I would think that there should be one to be had maybe easier than you think. You just need to ask. How is the condition of the chrome on the 3 wheels?

Here's a good start for you. A correct wheel that you just need to get chromed:

http://www.zr1.net/forum/showthread.php?t=18550

You need to do as detailed an image as done on this one to acquire the help that you're looking for. This wheel gets you at least a match, branding and offset.

Thanks everyone. I'm trying to match this as inexpensively as possible for now. (When finances allow, I'm looking for an original set of 90 wheels.)

@WV - I tried contacting two sellers that advertize online. No response from one and the other merely replied "lugs not that deep"

Maybe I'll have better luck with Detroit Wheel @ JEGS

The condition of the chrome on all the wheels is excellent. I'm likely the only one that notices the problem with the LR (other than you guys), but I'd love to get a matching one.

I'm betting pigs will fly before you have any luck finding a match from those sources. I am really surprised it was suggested they might be able to help you.

Keep it in your mind, If you buy a matching rear pair of wheels I would be interested in buying the one 36mm 17x11 wheel.

thanks, Bob
